Our Benefit on

huge success!

ALCATRAZ SWIM DONATION! Many of our friends touched by dementia feel isolated, alone and become prisoners in their own world. The goal of the Foundation is to set them free to rejoin their families where they all can live well with dementia. Here’s an exciting opportunity to support the Foundation by sponsoring Dr. Charlie! In July, he will travel to San Francisco to swim from the historic island of Alcatraz to the shore of San Francisco. This will be his swim of a lifetime! The 1.5 mile swim is in cold, “shark infested” waters. His goal is to raise $25,000 for the Foundation. Your financial support will continue the work and mission of the Foundation. To donate, please send a check made out to the Carolyn L. Farrell Foundation with “The Great Escape” in the memo line.

The Center for Artful Living offers a variety of arts enrichment programs at it’s comfortable new facility in Westlake. Current programming includes a range of arts sessions for individuals with dementia and their care partners. Activity: Music at the Center on Tuesdays is enjoyable! Join us first at the Memory Cafe for light refreshments. Then move to the Music Studio as violinist Nadine Kodysz guides us through a music program based on our month’s theme.

Activity: Lunch at the Center is a great way to meet and socialize. We’ll provide a beverage & dessert. Then we will transition to our art studio and create a piece that relates to Compassion and Empathy for all people. Artist-in-Residence Richard Skerl will lead the activity.
