Testimonials
At the art party, she found nothing but joy. When someone asked, “Blue paint or yellow?” she could answer that question! Painting or gluing, talking with a volunteer, snacking around the table – these empowered Mom to live in the moment. Later at home, she beamed with pride as we hung her art work.
I fully support the Farrell Foundation and the programs they offer. I have not found anything else like it, and they have been generous and open in sharing their time, talent, and materials with us. I do not exaggerate when I say that it is a valuable, life-saving partnership. There should be an organization like this in any location where dementia strikes.
The activities provided include drama, creative storytelling, painting, music and dancing. The staff of the adult day programs are noticing the following behaviors among the participants selected to attend the weekly program; “greater initiative”, “more verbal”, “increased number of smiles”, “sense of belonging”, and a “sense of pride and accomplishment”. I would highly recommend adding this enriching program to any agency providing activities for adults with mild to moderate cognitive or physical impairment.
